Sanctuaries in the Snow

The "Sasquatch Crossing" Sign and the "Bigfoot Crossing" Sign (Snowmass)

The "Sasquatch Crossing" sign at Snowmass used to be on Bull Run.  The "Bigfoot Crossing" sign at Snowmass is presently on Bull Run as of January 2020.  The Sasquatch sign was put in sometime in the 1970's by Ski Patroller Daryl Pederson, and then disappeared around 2013.  This sign was the subject of the Snowmass Sun newspaper's "Last Shot" section, December 11, 2013, page 15 (see photos below).  The Bigfoot sign was put in around the time that the Sasquatch sign disappeared.  The Bigfoot sign also says "Stevens Pass" on it; Stevens Pass is a ski resort in Washington.  Below the Bigfoot sign is a small white sign that says "Ski Ball Chalet" which is apparently a ski rental lodging unit.  The Bigfoot sign was also the subject of a Snowmass Sun newspaper "Last Shot" section, page 19, on December 25, 2013; see photos below

Thanks to Trung Vu George, Jill Beathard, and Bo Bedford for their help with the information on this page.
