The Jonathan A. Byers Bench and Plaque (Snowmass)

The Jonathan A. Byers plaque and bench is near the Sheer Bliss run on Snowmass.  He died in an automobile accident on September 27, 1998.  The following appeared in the September 29, 1998 Indianapolis Star newspaper, Indianapolis, Indiana, on page 12:  
 
"JONATHAN A. BYERS, 15, Carmel, died Sept. 27.  He was a sophomore at Carmel High School, where he was a member of the ski club and the baseball and tennis teams. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Sept. 29 in Carmel United Methodist Church, with calling there after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jonathan Byers Foundation in care of the church.  Survivors:  parents C. Michael and Linda K. Carpenter Byers; brothers Michael, Adam Byers:  grandparents Bill and Joyce Dowell Byers, Lillian Race Jewett, Bill Carpenter; stepgrandparents Bob Jewett, Carol Carpenter; great-grandmother Mary Tull Byers.  Flanner & Buchanan Carmel Mortuary is handling arrangements."
